Design and Technology (DATA) @ Roosevelt
Our dynamic Multimedia Arts pathway allows students to explore graphic design, animation, visual effects, video production, and game design using cutting-edge tools. This includes giving access to the latest application programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Unreal Engine, and Maya.

The structure of this pathway allows students of all experience levels to become experts by creating content that meets design challenges, establishes critical thinking, and creates collaboration among their peers. By selecting this pathway, students develop adaptable innovative abilities and a unique creative perspective.

The Multimedia Arts pathway establishes the foundation for careers in graphic design, animation, video game creation, and commercial photography. These vibrant fields are projected to grow annually by around 18% according to The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which also reports a median income of $56,000 for graphic design and animators, while video game designers have a median salary of $75,000. By developing artistic, technical and industry-relevant skills in multimedia arts, students are prepared to excel after DATA as they advance to college academics.

Multimedia Arts Curriculum

Students first begin with entry courses in either Principles of Arts, Audio/Video, and Communications, or Graphic Design and Illustration I, 3D Modeling and Animation, Video Game Design, or Commercial Photography I. These classes, paired with our advanced application access, then lead students to Video Game Programming, Advanced Video Game Programming, Graphic Design and Illustration II, Animation I and Animation II, as they advanced through the DATA curriculum.
